We have taken the heart-wrenching decision to suspend the first Xtreme Polo League event of the year.
As a consequence of the growing health concerns related to the pandemic of COVID-19, and the recommendations of the White House and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the leading national public health institute of the United States, to cancel events gathering over ten people, we have taken the heart-wrenching decision to suspend momentarily the first Xtreme Polo League event of the year, which was scheduled to take place from April 23-25 at International Polo Club Palm Beach.
This decision is in line with the USPA’s move to cancel all their polo tournaments. Furthermore, the association urgently called on the suspension of other sporting events for at least the next 15 days.
We are devastated to have to call the XPL event off, especially considering how excited we were to share the first stage of the league with polo fans and novices alike, as well as celebrating the thrill of the sport with the international community.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Our objective is to keep our players, teams, their organisations, umpires, staff, and supporters safe during a time of profound uncertainty affecting everyone around the world.
We encourage everyone to heed by the precautions recommended by the CDC, and to look after the health and well-being of loved ones during these difficult times.
